We’re all about living life in the sun, and that means protecting yourself from those skin-damaging UV rays. A broad-spectrum sunscreen applied frequently throughout the day is a good place to start. Here are a few more tips to keep your suncare in check.

SPF 30+

Broad-spectrum sunscreen protects against both UVA (skin aging) and UVB (skin burning) rays. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends this type of sunscreen with a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of at least 30.



Don’t forget to reapply your sunscreen. Every 80 minutes if you’re in the water (even with water resistant formulas), or about every two hours if you stay dry.


You shouldn’t slack off just because the sun is hiding out. UVA and UVB rays have no problem slipping past clouds and haze.


We know, sounds crazy, but seeking a little shade is not a bad idea — especially between the hours of 10am and 2pm when the sun is at its peak.


As if you needed an excuse to get a floppy, wide-brim hat or that sexy beach cover-up. Protective clothing is another way to give your skin a much-needed break.
