Ozran beach on Vagator, Goa, India
As the original hippy haunt, the sandy shores of northern Goa have always attracted those seeking their own Elysium. On Vagator beach, the star-gazers try to dance their way there, melting into hypnotic trance beats that bounce across the sand and off the rolling waves. Geology has effectively divided Vagator in three separate stretches of sand and our pick is Ozran, a laid-back little bean of a beach, cheekily out-of-sight until you venture around the rocks to find it. Lay until late afternoon when the party crowd head up the hill to 9 Bar, where the balmy beats blast as the sun sets.
