Beach of the Month: Bottom Bay

Each month we bring you one of the best beaches in the world as our Beach of the Month and this month’s best beach is one of Barbados’ most beautiful beaches.

BEACH: Bottom Bay Beach

WHERE: On the south-east coast of Barbados and tucked away between Cave Bay and Palmetto Bay. Bottom Bay has previously been touted by locals as the best beach in Barbados. Well, their word is certainly good enough for us.

WHY: Tall palm trees a-swaying and aqua waves a-rolling. Is there really a need for another why? Well, if you’re still not persuaded, this is also one for the nature-lovers. Beach frequenters have reported sightings of turtles and whales in the waters further out. The beach is also skirted by towering coral cliffs which makes for a striking view.

HOW: A hidden gem, and in this case good things don’t come easy. It can be quite difficult to find, but trust us, it’s definitely worth it in the end. You can catch a bus from Bridgetown or from Saint Lawrence Gap, but as it can prove to be quite tricky to find, it’s probably best to jump in a taxi. The way we see it, the sooner you’re there, the sooner you can enjoy this slice of paradise.

H20: Electric cyan

SAND TONE: Crumbled marble

STAY: Love is in the air. Well it definitely is at The Crane Residential Resort, which is notoriously romantic, secluded and tranquil. The resort also boasts stellar views, which may have something to do with the fact that it has its own beach; this definitely ticks a box in our eyes.

WHEN: Luckily the climate in Barbados tends to be beautiful all-year-round, but if the rain isn’t for you, avoid July which is the wettest month at 18 days of rain. Ouch.
